Gas players call for local focus for federal funding

Gas pipeline developers are worried the federal government’s support for an LNG import terminal on the south-east coast is taking the focus away from accessing existing Australian resources and want more urgency to be given to local ventures.

The government’s interim National Gas Infrastructure Plan released last Friday identifies an LNG import terminal among four “critical” infrastructure priorities that may receive a total $38.7 million of support in the budget to drive increased supply.
