Energy retailers are cutting back generous feed-in tariffs for households with rooftop solar panels in response to a glut of cheap energy in the grid in the middle of the day.

Having already reduced them over the past few years, the big energy retailers – AGL, Origin Energy and EnergyAustralia – are expected to cut them back further when they announce their tariffs for next financial year.
