Energy bill relief to target low-income households, pensioners
Low-income Queensland households will receive energy bill relief in next week’s federal budget, but the Albanese government won’t yet commit funding to two new mega-pumped hydro projects because it is too early.
While the Palaszczuk government has already committed to provide energy rebates of more than $200 for all Queensland households next financial year, Queensland Energy Minister Mick de Brenni said additional co-funded rebates with the Commonwealth would target low-income households.
