Clean energy players are adamant a return of the Trump administration won't cut off growth in the sector, while acknowledging it could be a fraction of what would be likely under the Democrats' ambitious environmental targets.

As the results from the tight US poll filtered through on Wednesday, John Martin, chief executive of US-focused solar farm investor New Energy Solar said solar power was still set to make huge strides thanks to its cost competitiveness, even without the stimulus promised by Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden.
