Chesapeake pays $200 mln for S. Texas acres-Antares
Chesapeake Energy paid $US200 million to Australia's Antares Energy and its partner for the right to drill on land in the Eagle Ford Shale area in south Texas, Antares said.
Chesapeake Energy paid $US200 million to Australia's Antares Energy and its partner for the right to drill on 23,180 acres in the Eagle Ford Shale area in south Texas, Antares said on Monday.
Chesapeake paid $US8628 per acre, representing a premium of more than 20 per cent over the average value of all transactions in the area within the past year, Antares said on its website.
