CEOs say climate-based reporting will leave nothing behind
Australian companies will not get away with simply reporting on climate risks, and will have to disclose a wider and more detailed assessment on how their businesses interface with nature within two to five years, the boss of vitamins group Blackmores says.
Alastair Symington, who is leading a project in conjunction with six other chief executives of big companies including Woolworths, Woodside Energy and Bunnings-owner Wesfarmers, says nature-related financial disclosures are on their way as capital markets, regulators and governments expand their focus to include all types of natural resources.
