APA Group signs 30-year deal for Kurri Kurri gas plant

APA Group has agreed to a 30-year deal with Snowy Hydro to build a storage facility and gas pipeline to connect the Kurri Kurri plant, amid a concerted push to accelerate the development of the project to ease supply concerns.

The taxpayer-funded Kurri Kurri gas plant is earmarked to ease the impact on baseload generation gap caused by the early closure of the Eraring coal-fired plant in 2025.
