AGL board ‘should support independence’: Geoff Wilson
High-profile fund manager Geoff Wilson has called on the board of AGL Energy to support the four independent director candidates put forward by the electricity supplier’s largest shareholder Grok Ventures, rejecting suggestions they would not be fully independent.
Mr Wilson, whose firm’s WAM Strategic Value fund is a “small” shareholder in AGL, said the board led by chairman Patricia McKenzie needs to allow shareholders to have the final say on the four, who include former Energy Security Board chairman Kerry Schott.
