Minerals processing equipment provider Ludowici ’s operating performance for the year to date has beaten its expectations, but the federal government’s new mining tax could affect second half results. The company said yesterday its growing international businesses would seek to win mining projects diverted from Australia as a result of the proposed resource super profits tax. It expects to post net profit of $5.3 million for the six months to June 30.AAP
Minerals testing company Ammtec will reject a $123 million takeover offer from Campbell Brothers because the offer does not take into account a substantial rise in future earnings. Ammtec has forecast strong earnings and profit growth for 2010-11, driven by recent investments and improving trading conditions. AAP
