Australian goldminer Haoma Mining said it will buy back BHP Billiton’s 10 million Haoma shares for 10¢ each. On February 19 BHP advised Haoma it wished to sell the shares as part of the strategy of selling non-core assets.

Melbourne-based biotech Clinuvel said it would commence trials of its drug afamelanotide in up to 60 patients in the US next month after obtaining approval from the US Food and Drug Administration. The product is used to treat a genetic disorder that causes skin intolerance to ultraviolet radiation and light. Khia Mercer
