BHP Billiton restarted operations at its 60,000 tonne a year Kwinana refinery in Western Australia yesterday. The site shut down on March 18 due to problems sourcing hydrogen gas. Nickel for three-month delivery surged to its highest level since June 18 on the London Metal Exchange on Friday, closing at $US23,600 a tonne.
