Colonial lights fire under GasNet bidders

Babcock & Brown Infrastructure and Australian Pipeline Trust are under pressure to radically improve their hostile takeover bid for GasNet Australia after the target accepted a higher bid from fund manager Colonial First State.
The $418 million all-cash offer at $2.88 a share from the division of Commonwealth Bank of Australia comes as it attempts to build a bigger wholesale infrastructure fund to compete with listed funds.
