Shares in Perth oil and gas explorer Oilex NL continued their stellar run yesterday following the oil discovery in Queensland's Surat Basin. Day traders helped push the stock to a high of 73 ¢ in the morning, before profit takers moved in. Shares closed up 27 per cent, or 14 ¢, at 65 ¢. The stock has more than tripled since noon on Tuesday when the energy junior announced an oil strike at its Rookwood South well. AAP
