United Malt says China barley bans felt around the world

China's crippling tariffs on Australian barley and its aggressive buying of alternative feed grains are affecting global trade flows and commodity prices, United Malt Group says.

Chief executive Mark Palmquist said China's heavy demand for US corn had pushed up barley prices in Canada where both locally grown barley and corn from across the border in the US are used to feed livestock.
