Ruralco lifts profits, revenue as diversity pays off in drought year

Ruralco sees light at the end of the tunnel for its loss-making live export division and has no plans to follow the lead taken by bigger and older agribusiness rival Elders last year when it officially exited the trade.
Managing director Travis Dillon said Ruralco was committed to the live cattle trade despite its Frontier business slumping to a $3.1 million loss for the year ended September 30.
