Farm chemicals entrepreneur Doug Rathbone will pocket a small windfall from the $475 million buyout of Delta Agribusiness by larger rival Elders and intends to stay on to help guide the business for two years.

The 79-year-old built his fortune via the Nufarm agricultural group which he ran for 15 years until 2015. He also owns a luxury wine portfolio that includes brands such as Yering Station, Mount Langi Ghiran and Xanadu.
