The world’s biggest cotton trader Louis Dreyfus Commodities Group will become the biggest shareholder in Australia’s second biggest cotton ginner Namoi Cotton Co-operative after striking a joint-venture deal involving the marketing and packing assets of the struggling cotton group.

The deal comes a year after Namoi began rattling the tin for a cornerstone investor to inject much needed capital in to the company.
