Costa hit by hailstorms and labour shortages

Key Points

  • Revenue ($m): 612.4 vs year-earlier 612.4
  • EBITDA ($m): 124.4, v year-earlier 119.3
  • Net profit ($m): 44.4 v 43.1
  • Interim dividend: 4¢, payable October 7

Produce group Costa Group’s stock dropped 5 per cent to $3.19 after the company posted lower interim profit for a half marked by hailstorms and shortages of fruit and vegetable pickers.

The fall comes after warnings earlier this year that labour shortages would weigh on profits, triggering a big share price tumble in May that wiped $400 million from the market value of the fruit and vegetables company.
