Almond grower Select Harvests hit by lower crop volumes

Simon Evans

Australia’s second-largest almond grower, Select Harvests, warned its 2023 crop volume could be substantially lower than a previous forecast of 30,000 metric tonnes issued at its annual meeting less than a month ago.

The company’s new chief executive, David Surveyor, outlined the bad news to investors in an ASX announcement on Tuesday, just four weeks into his stint running the company which controls 9300 hectares of almond trees in Victoria, NSW and South Australia.
