Why the office property market is still in real pain
Sliding valuations in Australian office real estate means the debate about whether the sector has hit the bottom will rage on.
The steady trickle of bad news from the Australian office market shows no signs of slowing, with Thursday bringing fresh valuation data from Dexus and Growthpoint Properties.
Dexus’ preliminary estimates, based on independent valuations of 30 properties, is that the value of its office portfolio will fall 11.3 per cent in the six months to June 30.
