On the big days of this month’s earnings season, The Australian Financial Review’s Chanticleer columnists James Thomson and Anthony Macdonald have extracted the gold from the key profit results.

AM: The bigger Woodside Energy is really hitting its straps. It’s easy to forget that this company went through a transformative acquisition only a year ago, acquiring BHP Petroleum to more than double in size. Fourteen months post completion, there are no massive write-downs or regrets – just bigger dividends for investors and more cash for its growth projects, although full synergies remain a work in progress.
