What brokers, fund managers do when ‘mkt dead quiet’
This week is unlisted companies week. Macquarie, UBS and Citi are all parading unlisted companies or investment themes – ostensibly, in the name of research.
You have to give it to stockbrokers, they are irrepressible.
Faced with weak listed market turnover, commissions far less than they used to be, clients under extreme pressure, and an annual pre-results blackout season, they are embracing unlisted companies to try to make a buck.
