The NBN dream is getting smaller

While the days of adding 1 million users a year or more are long gone, the NBN is upbeat. It hasn’t seen any evidence that the cost of living has caused people to give up their broadband subscriptions.

If NBN Co was a listed company, its results would have landed in the middle or upper end of guidance.

Its 2023 corporate plan tipped $5.2 billion to $5.4 billion in revenue (result: $5.3 billion), and $3.4 billion to $3.6 billion earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (result: $3.6 billion). So, all good? Yes and no.
