Say what you like about Qantas chairman Richard Goyder, but he has far too many miles on the clock to be forced into a major gaffe in front of a Senate committee.

On Wednesday afternoon, Goyder easily danced around questions about whether he continues to hold the confidence of his board and shareholders.
