Star CEO Cooke bites the bullet on job cuts, redundancies fly

The Star Entertainment Group boss spent one week reviewing all jobs across the organisation, before finding the 500 positions that would go.

The job cuts have started at The Star Entertainment Group with 200 employees made redundant on Thursday and 300 more to be cut by the end of the month.

Star Entertainment Group boss Robbie Cooke said the casino operator’s head office bore the brunt of the job cuts, while there were some front-line positions lost which matched a decline in casino takings.
