A perfect storm for deal making has Australia on track for a record year of merger and acquisition activity.

Dealogic analysis produced for The Australian Financial Review shows there have been $US64.3 billion ($82.8 billion) of deals announced so far this year, well above the average over the past five years (excluding calendar 2020 when COVID-19 stopped M&A in its tracks in the first half) of $US20 billion.
