Just when you think you’ve seen everything, Australia’s corporate sector throws up a scandal so bizarre that it’s hard to believe.

Geoff Bainbridge, the chief executive of listed whisky maker Lark Distilling, sensationally quit the company on Wednesday “to enable him to manage a personal matter” that was brought to the board’s attention on Tuesday night.
