MacCap tips investment banking’s ‘winter’ is over
The advisory’s head, Tim Joyce, is growing more confident that better times are around the corner for local deal-making.
Investment bankers are a resilient bunch, and they’ve needed every bit of that fortitude to navigate the soft deal environment that’s followed the pandemic boom.
With a month to go in the year, Australian M&A has seen 242 deals worth about $139 billion, just below the 10-year median of about $160 billion in M&A, and well below the record of $372 billion set in 2021.
