Iran link kills COVID-19 vaccine takeover
The scuppering of a planned takeover of the maker of a home-grown COVID-19 vaccine is being blamed on its decision to test the vaccine in Iran.
A strong connection with Iran appears to have killed attempts by listed biopharmaceutical company Immuron to take over the maker of Australia’s best and only COVID-19 vaccine.
Under a deal negotiated in May, Immuron agreed to pay about $100 million in cash and scrip for privately owned biotechnology company Vaxine, which was founded by Nikolai Petrovsky.
