D-Day looms for TPG on Vodafone merger ban
A $15 billion merger and the ACCC's reputation for merger rulings will be riding on a three-week federal court case starting next Tuesday. Vodafone and TPG are challenging the ACCC ban on their merger.
TPG Telecom has given a taste of what will happen next week in the much anticipated Federal Court case challenging the competition regulator’s ban on TPG’s $15billion merger with Vodafone Australia.
The case, which is being heard by competition specialist, Justice John Middleton, is a test of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission’s ’s new approach to merger approvals.
