Winners from profit season’s big Wednesday

All eyes were on CBA’s monster numbers, but Seven Group Holdings and AGL also delivered nice profit growth – and Pro Medicus impressed yet again.

Key Points

The big result | While all eyes were on Commonwealth Bank and its sky-high valuation, Seven Group Holdings quietly made its latest pitch for the title of the most consistent performer on the ASX.

This financial year again demonstrated chief executive Ryan Stokes’ ability to boost operating leverage across the WesTrac equipment business, the Coates Hire division and the Boral building materials business it bought out earlier this year. Revenue rose 10 per cent, while EBIT jumped 20 per cent and net profit surged 30 per cent.
