Quiksilver boss Pierre Agnes is missing at sea as boat washes up on French coast

Grave concerns remain over the whereabouts of Pierre Agnes – the chief executive of US surfwear retailer Boardriders, which owns Quiksilver – as the French coastguard continued its search after his 11-metre boat was found washed up on the nation's Atlantic coast.

Three helicopters and two boats have been searching for Mr Agnes who disappeared on Tuesday after he ventured out around 7:30am. The speedboat was later washed up at Hossegor, about 30 kilometres north of Biarritz.
