David Jones parent Woolworths Holdings not looking to buy Myer

The South African owner of department store David Jones, Woolworths Holdings, has once again denied any discussions with Myer about a possible tie-up of the two retailers.

The Myer share price jumped as much as 13 per cent in trading on Friday before closing 7.3 per cent higher at 37¢ following a News Corp report of a possible merger. Woolworths Holdings said the report was speculation and untrue.
