Whitehaven ramps up coking coal output

Whitehaven Coal is increasing sales of coking coal at the expense of thermal coal as it seeks to fully capitalise on the extraordinary rally in prices.
Shares in Whitehaven surged to a 44-month high on Monday after chief executive Paul Flynn indicated the miner would produce a higher proportion of high-value coking coal than expected this financial year.
