Coal rally can't tempt Whitehaven to loosen purse strings

The coal price rally is still too young for Whitehaven Coal to resume dividends, but the miner's managing director Paul Flynn says shareholders could be rewarded for their loyalty within two years.
Speaking after Whitehaven returned to profit for the first time since 2012, Mr Flynn said coal markets appeared to have found a bottom in early 2016 and he was cautiously optimistic about prices in the short term.
