Holden offers mega-warranty as local production finishes
After more than $35 billion in taxpayer assistance and subsidies, the last Australian-made car will roll off the production line on Friday at Holden's Elizabeth plant .
The remaining 950 workers at the Holden car factory in northern Adelaide will be officially axed after a red-coloured Holden Commodore leaves the plant on October 20, as its United States parent becomes the last of the global car companies to exit from local car making, following Toyota, Ford and Mitsubishi to become importers only.
