Lawyers for Angela Bennett, the matriarch of a private company housing lucrative Pilbara iron ore tenements, will argue her estranged brother, businessman Julian Wright, took too long to lodge a fraud claim against her.
In what is shaping as another extraordinary family battle over an iron ore fortune, the legal team representing Ms Bennett and her late brother Michael Wright said they would pursue laches as a defence, meaning they plan to argue Mr Wright had taken too long to bring his action to court.
