Financial planners are drifting away from the big banks and taking their precious funds flow with them, as a burgeoning breed of independent investment platforms siphon it up.
In an analysis of Australian Securities and Investments Commission planner statistics, UBS found at the end of last month that advisers from non-major financial institutions now make up 63 per cent of the market, up 4.7 percentage points over the year.
