ANZ to pay $5m for Esanda car finance breach

ANZ Banking Group has reached a settlement with the corporate watchdog over dodgy loans approved through its former car finance business Esanda, agreeing to pay a $5 million fine.

The bank admitted it contravened the responsible-lending laws 24 times for car loans approved by Esanda from three broker businesses between 2013 and 2015.
