CPA Australia spent almost $6 million promoting a book and television show centred on former CEO Alex Malley, money that was "essentially lost" once he was fired from the nation's largest accounting body.
The revelation is one of many examples of the way "the board and the then-CEO lost touch with a large cohort of the membership of CPA Australia" contained in an interim report about the way CPA has been run.
