Productivity falls for first time in 7 years

The economy is adding lots of jobs but not many of them are highly paid or very productive, according to the national accounts.
The Turnbull government has boasted about 400,000 new jobs and the labour market was running especially hot in 2017 with total employment increasing 2.2 per cent.
