Charles Goode, John Calvert-Jones quit another Liberal arm
Joe AstonColumnistThe finances of the Liberal Party's Victorian division are as close to happy resolution as the Arab-Israeli conflict. At Friday's board meeting of Vapold Pty Ltd, the ASIC-registered vehicle that last year mortgaged its Melbourne headquarters at 104 Exhibition Street, former ANZ chair Charles Goode resigned as chairman, while Rupert Murdoch's brother-in-law John Calvert-Jones resigned as a director. This follows Calvert-Jones' recent resignation from the Liberals' long-time benefactor trust, the Cormack Foundation (and an epic spray at party president Michael Kroger by Herald Sun columnist Terry McCrann). Goode remains the foundation's chairman. Sounds like Kroger has it all under control.
