Walk into ANZ Banking Group's flash new branch in the heart of Sydney's CBD and you could be forgiven for thinking you were in the foyer of a hotel.

Two concierges greet you and politely ask what you want. More than half of the space in the branch is devoted to meeting rooms to have private conversations with customers about home loans, insurance protection, financial advice and small business loans.
