A woman has been arrested after knives were found in her handbag at the entrance of the Adelaide Magistrates Court.
Just after 10am, SA Police were called to the Adelaide Magistrates Court in relation to an incident inside the front lobby.
It is alleged court sheriff’s officers, using an x-ray machine, located two knives in the bag of a 32-year-old Munno Parra West woman who was entering the courthouse.
It is further alleged one of the blades was a folding knife, able to lock into its handle, while the second was a double-edged knife secured in a leather sheath and holster that could be worn on the arm or the leg.
They also located prescription medication.
Sheriffs immediately detained the woman and police were called — four officers then escorted the woman to a waiting cage car.
She has been charged with carrying an offensive weapon, possessing a prohibited weapon and possessing prescription medication.
She has been bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court in November.
