Vision of Zak's Pizza bar arson attack

Police have released CCTV footage of two men in motorbike helmets breaking into a popular southern suburbs pizza bar before setting it alight.

Zak’s Pizza & Grill, at the Happy Valley Shopping Centre, was destroyed in the arson attack last month and was the third time the business was targeted in as many years.

Detectives are now hoping new footage would prompt people to come forward with new information on the incident, which happened just after 3.30am on Tuesday, August 18.

It took more than 20 firefighters to fully extinguish the blaze.

The flames completely gutted the inside of the shop, with the damage bill estimated at $200,000.

In late July 2017, owner Zak Kartabani’s store in Port Noarlunga South was destroyed by an arsonist.

He reopened the eatery in October, before it was yet again destroyed in a second attack the following month.

The footage of the most recent attack in August shows two men forcing a door open to Zak’s Pizza & Grill before appearing to use an accelerant to torch the inside of the shop.

A motorbike with a duffel bag full of equipment is seen next to them.
