The father-of-three said the culprits also hit him with planks of wood.
“Two people came into my house and attacked me,” he said.
“I was actually asleep and they came in and attacked me with some lumps of wood.”
Mr Edwards said he did not recognise the men.
“They walked straight in because I had my door open and they came in and started saying it was over a motorbike,” he said.
“They just mentioned that there was a motorbike out the back — there wasn’t no motorbike in my backyard.”

Mr Edwards was discharged from hospital on Tuesday morning.
He said he was feeling “not good”.
One of his daughters, who did not wish to be named, was visibly upset by the attack.
“He’s got holes in his head (and) he can’t even (see) properly,” she said.
The daughter had a message for those responsible. “They can get f***ed,” she said. “I hate them.”
Police say the two parties are believed to be known to each other and the incident is not a random attack.
Meanwhile, in nearby Para Hills, six men armed with baseball bats forced their way into a home early Tuesday morning.
The men kicked in the door of the Dennis Crescent home about 4am and searched the residence.
Three people were inside at the time but no one was assaulted or injured. Nothing appears to be stolen.
Police say it was not a random attack, believing the house was targeted by the men.
