A teacher at Adelaide High School has been charged with aggravated indecent assault.

The teacher was arrested on Saturday and principal Cez Green informed parents at the West Tce school in a letter, obtained by The Advertiser, on Thursday.

In the letter, Ms Green says the teacher has strict bail conditions preventing him from engaging in any child related work.

“The teacher has been directed away from the workplace and instructed not to attend the school pending the outcome of the police investigation and prosecution,” she writes.

SA Police said the accused man is 62-years-old and from the western suburbs.

He was bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court in August while investigations continue.
