Police release CCTV of alleged toilet paper thieves in Tungkillo
Police are looking for a couple who allegedly stole toilet paper from a public toilet block in Tungkillo. Meanwhile, a man who allegedly blew more than four times the legal blood-alcohol limit has lost his licence after he was pulled over with a rose bush attached to the side of his car.

CCTV OF TOILET PAPER THIEVES
Police have released CCTV images of a couple allegedly stealing toilet paper from a public toilet block in the state’s north-east, in Tungkillo.
A man and woman were captured on camera taking an industrial toilet paper roll from the block on Brinkworth Rd about 3.30pm on Tuesday, March 31. The wire cage around the facility was damaged to gain access. The man is described as caucasian, medium build, aged in his 30s with tattoos on his left arm. The woman is described as being of caucasian appearance, medium build, aged in her 30s with short, dark hair.
HIGH RANGE DRINK DRIVER ARRESTED
A man was last night arrested for driving more than six times over the legal blood alcohol limit at the Marla Border Checkpoint on Tuesday night.
Police saw a black Holden Commodore appear to try to avoid the check point and drive to a nearby service station just after 8pm last night.
Police breath-tested the man, who submitted a positive result of 0.316, more than six times the legal limit of 0.05. The driver, a 45-year-old Cooper Pedy man was arrested and charged with drink driving and driving disqualified. His licence was disqualified for 12 months and his car was impounded for 28 days. He was bailed to appear in court at a later day.
ROSES ARE RED, VIOLETS ARE BLUE …
An allegedly drunk man has lost his licence after he was caught driving a car with a rose bush hanging out of its wheel well.
The man, 21, was pulled over while travelling south on North East Rd in Klemzig about 2.30am today.
Officers noticed a large ornamental rose bush attached to the left side of his Mitsubishi Magna. A picture appears to show the bush stuffed into the back left wheel well.

The Klemzig man was breath-tested and allegedly returned a reading of 0.209, more than four times the legal limit.
He was reported for drink driving and lost his licence for a year, while his car was impounded for 28 days.
Police said they were unable to find where the rose bush came from and they have left it near bus stop 23 on North East Rd.
MAN SUFFERS BURNS IN HOUSE FIRE
A man has suffered superficial burns in a southern suburbs house fire this morning.
The blaze broke out at a home on Huntingdale Rd in Noarlunga Downs about 6.30am.
MFS crews extinguished the blaze in about 15 minutes.
The man was treated by ambulance officers for superficial burns and possible smoke inhalation.
No one else was hurt.
MFS and SA Police are investigating the cause of the blaze.

MOTHER, BOY ATTACKED BY DOG
A woman and her boy have been seriously injured in a dog attack at a home in Adelaide’s north.
The pair, believed to be visiting a neighbouring property, was attacked at a house on Greenwood Crescent, Smithfield Plains, just after 1.30pm on Tuesday.
The woman was taken to Royal Adelaide Hospital where she remains in serious condition.
The boy was taken to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, but his condition is unknown.
The dog was seized by authorities.
POLICE SEARCH FOR PLAYGROUND THIEVES
Police are looking for information on the theft of playground equipment from Murray Bridge.
A circular polyresin slide valued at around $3000, similar to the one pictured below, was taken from the playground on Owl Drive overnight on Thursday April 2.
The theft comes after Prime Minister Scott Morrison last week announced playgrounds across Australia would close due to the coronavirus pandemic.

THIEVES STEAL WAR MEMORIAL PLAQUES
Police are investigating the theft of three war memorial plaques in Tranmere on Monday night.
War memorial plaques, including an Ode of Remembrance, Poppies Project and Dedication of the Garden plaque (all pictured) were stolen from a wall on Shakespeare Ave. They went missing between 3pm Monday April 6 and 8.30am Tuesday April 7.

MAN ARRESTED FOLLOWING PURSUIT
A man has been arrested after allegedly stealing petrol and leading police on a chase through Adelaide’s western suburbs overnight.
He was first spotted speeding in a gold Holden Cruze on Marlborough St in Henley Beach about 9.20pm on Monday, police say.
Officers followed the car as it turned onto Tapleys Hill Rd, but the chase was called off due to safety reasons.
It is alleged the man, 39, of Mile End, drove off without paying for petrol at a Hilton service station on Sir Donald Bradman Drive earlier in the night.
The car wasn’t spotted again until just before midnight in a similar area. This time, the vehicle had no number plates.
It was soon found dumped at a unit complex on HMAS Australia Rd.
As officers were inspecting the Holden, the 39-year-old man was walking back to the vehicle – but he allegedly turned around and ran away as soon as he saw police.
He was quickly arrested and charged with several offences. He will appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court today.

TRUCK FIRE ON SE FREEWAY
A truck carrying a load of timber caught fire on the South Eastern Freeway this morning.
The B-double truck pulled over just below the Heysen Tunnels at Leawood Gardens about 8.10am as thick, black smoke drifted across the area.
A police spokeswoman said the fire was quickly extinguished, with the truck staying in a parking bay.
The prime mover was completely destroyed, but fire crews stopped the flames from spreading to its load of timber.
The driver escaped unharmed.
Speeds were reduced to 40 km/h and the left-hand lane was blocked until emergency services crews left the scene just after 9.30am.
Traffic is now flowing freely after the truck was towed away.

MAN ON PUSHBIKE SMASHES INTO HAIR SALON
A man on a pushbike has smashed his way into a northern suburbs hair salon before stealing the cash till inside.
Police say he smashed the window to the business on Hollywood Boulevard in Salisbury Downs about 6am yesterday.
CCTV footage from the shopping centre shows the man, described as being caucasian and wearing a white baseball cap, leaving the salon while carrying the till on a black pushbike.
He was last seen riding northeast on Hollywood Boulevard.

SUNGLASSES STOLEN IN OPTOMETRIST BREAK-IN
Several pairs of sunglasses have been stolen from a southern suburbs optometrist that was broken into this morning.
A thief wearing dark clothing and a baseball cap broke into Westbourne Park business on Goodwood Rd just before 3.30.
Officers found a front glass panel had been removed from the front door when they arrived to investigate the theft.
Police say “numerous pairs” of Mako-branded sunglasses were stolen from a display case inside.
A dog patrol could not find the suspect, who was carrying a backpack.

SPEEDING TAXI DRIVER LOSES LICENCE
A taxi driver has lost his licence for six months after he was caught driving more than 50km/h faster than the speed limit between Truro and Blanchetown.
Police detected the speeding driver on the Sturt Highway, Annadale just after 9pm on Saturday, travelling 166km/h in a 110km/h zone.
The 23-year-old man from the western suburbs was issued a $1718 fine and an instant six-month loss of licence.
TEEN ARRESTED AFTER CRASHING STOLEN CAR
A 16-year-old has been arrested after crashing an allegedly stolen car in Athol Park in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Patrols conducted a registration check of a white Hyundai as it drove past them in Mansfield Park just before 4am on Sunday morning
It showed the vehicle was reported stolen from Christie Downs on Saturday. An unmarked police car later observed the car speeding and driving erratically through the backstreets of Athol Park before the car crashed into a fence on Glenroy St.
The driver fled the scene on foot. Police searched the area and located the suspect hiding in the yard of a nearby business.
The 16-year-old Mansfield Park boy was arrested and charged with illegal use, unlawful possession, possession of cannabis and driving unlicensed. He was bailed to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court in May.
STOLEN CAR CLIPS ANOTHER VEHICLE
Police are searching for the driver of an allegedly stolen car that clipped the back of another car after failing to stop for police at Smithfield this morning.
Patrols spotted the blue Holden Commodore on Main North Rd and attempted to pull it over.
The driver refused, and ran a red light at the intersection of Main North Rd and Uley Rd before hitting the back of a Hyundai travelling through the intersection.
The driver of the Hyundai was not injured in the collision but the vehicle was towed from the scene.
Investigations are continuing to locate the driver and the Commodore, which was reported stolen from Mt Barker in November.

SPEEDING DRINK DRIVER CAUGHT AT WINGFIELD
A speeding, drink driver has lost his license and had his ute impounded this morning at Wingfield.
Police identified the silver ute on Grand Junction Rd, travelling 102km/h in a 60km/h zone just after 10am Sunday.
The vehicle was stopped and the driver was breath tested, returning a blood alcohol reading of 0.186, more than three times over the legal limit of 0.05. The 31-year-old man was issued a fine for $1532 and was reported for drink driving. His licence was disqualified for 12 months and his ute was impounded for 28 days.
MAN REPORTED FOR DRUG AND GUN POSSESSION
A Yorke Peninsula man will face court after cannabis and a gun were found at a property in Yorketown.
Police attended the address just after 11.30am Sunday to conduct a search where they located two cannabis plants, cannabis smoking equipment, insecure ammunition and an insecure rifle.
Checks on the firearm revealed it had been reported stolen in 2007 and the occupant of the home did not hold a firearms licence. A 53-year-old man was reported for cultivating cannabis, and several firearms offences. A cannabis expiation notice totalling $500 was issued to the man. He will appear in court at a later date.
