Police have been notified of bushfire victims receiving phone calls from scammers pretending to be from banks offering emergency relief.

Scammers are targeting the victims of bushfires around the state.
South Australia police are advising that members of the public who have had property damaged or destroyed in the fire have been receiving phone calls from a person claiming to be from a bank.
The caller claimed that the bank would like to provide disaster relief funds and wanted the victim’s bank account details to deposit the money in their account.
Similar calls have also been received by people not within the bush fire regions.
Police are reminding members of the public not to disclose bank details to anyone over the phone.
Anyone who received a call of this nature is asked to contact police on 131 444 or make a report to scam watch online.
