A paraplegic man whose prized motorbike was callously stolen is desperate to track it down.
Ben Harris had spent hundreds of hours working on the purpose-built vehicle, and he said taking it from his garage was a “cowardly” and “scumbag” act.
Mr Harris, who was paralysed from the waist down by a freak accident in 2003, had spent six years and more than $15,000 building his dream motorbike, a 2014 KTM 450 SX-F, modified to allow him to ride.
He returned home to Morphett Vale from work as a welder on February 18, to find the bike missing from his garage.
“I was shocked, just devastated,” Mr Harris said. “It’s my major passion.
“Now I’m not able to ride with my mates”.
Mr Harris is unsure why someone would steal a bike that is designed specifically for those who are paralysed.
He has contacted the police and put a public call out through social media to help track his beloved motorbike down.
